The 29th edition of the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK), one of India's premier film festivals, is set to take place from December 13 to 20 in Thiruvananthapuram. Organized by the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy on behalf of the Department of Cultural Affairs, Government of Kerala, IFFK has earned a global reputation as Asia’s best-managed and most people-centered film festival. Over the years, it has become a cultural highlight, attracting top films, acclaimed filmmakers, and cinema lovers from around the world.
The delegate registration for this year's festival saw an overwhelming response. More than 5,000 people registered within just hours of the registration opening at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 25. A total of 12,000 delegates are expected to participate in the event, which will be held across 15 venues in the city.
Delegates can register via the official website https://registration.iffk.in, with fees of Rs. 1,180 for students (including taxes) and Rs. 590 for general attendees. In addition, a delegate cell has been set up at the Tagore Theatre, the festival's main venue, for on-site registration.
The eight-day festival will feature around 180 films from various countries, showcasing a diverse range of cinematic works. Key highlights include categories such as World Cinema, Indian Cinema Now, Malayalam Cinema Today, Country Focus, and the Homage section, dedicated to celebrating the legacies of forgotten film talents.
In addition to film screenings, the IFFK will offer a rich program of cultural events, including open forums, "Meet the Director" sessions, and panel discussions, making it a vibrant space for filmmakers and film enthusiasts to connect and engage.
