Google Pixel 9 Pro to Reportedly Launch with Free Gemini Advanced Subscription

Google’s upcoming Pixel 9 series, anticipated to make its debut on August 13 during the annual Made by Google event, is generating buzz with exciting new features. According to recent reports, the Pixel 9 Pro might launch with a free one-year subscription to Gemini Advanced, offering substantial benefits, including 2TB of cloud storage.

The Pixel 9 series is expected to include the base model, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. While specifics about these devices remain under wraps, a report by 9to5Google has unveiled a potential perk for the Pro models. The details of this offer were found in the latest Google app beta (version 15.28), where a string of code revealed, “Your Pixel Pro gives you access to a 1-year subscription to Gemini Advanced, our most capable AI model with priority access to new features, at no cost to you.”

Though this information is not yet visible to beta users, 9to5Google accessed it by decompiling the Android Application Package (APK). This discovery suggests that the offer might be embedded within the app, set to activate when accessed on the designated Pixel 9 Pro smartphones. The report indicates that "Pro" could encompass all three high-end models: Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold.

Launched by Google in February, the Gemini Advanced subscription initially introduced the Gemini Pro artificial intelligence (AI) model. This has since been updated to the Gemini 1.5 Pro AI model, featuring a one million token context window and integrated into the Google One AI Premium plan. Subscribers benefit from Gemini features across Google’s suite of apps, including Gmail, Docs, and Sheets, and gain early access to new and experimental features.

Additionally, Gemini Advanced subscribers receive 2TB of cloud storage alongside other Google One benefits. Currently, this subscription is priced at Rs. 1,950 per month in India.
